TRECO
Towards Real Energy performance and COntrol by predicting, monitoring, comparing and controlling
The goal of the project TRECO is to fundamentally understand the actual energy consumption in buildings in terms of quantities, time and functionalities and all other factors that are involved. The aim is to close the gap between predicted and actual energy consumption and to control in an useful way the regulation of energy system.
TRECO's research design and approach is based on three central bottlenecks:
1. ‘Lack of insight in actual energy performance, how to regulate this and influence it usefully’
2. ‘The discrepancy between collective social importance versus a private colletive importand and an individual importance’
3. ‘Insecurity about the actual energy performances and savings are an important bottleneck for decision-making, financing constructions and energy services’
