A social robot who cares for you

Within the Mobiserv project, a  smart home environment has been developed to support elderly in their daily lives through a social robat, smart clothing and smart sensors at home.

The goal of Mobiserv is to develop and use new technologies to support in an intelligent and easy way independent living of elderly as long as possible, both in their own home and in different healthcare institutions. This support is focused on daily activities in home, mainly nutrition, healthcare, mobility and safety. 

The project is based on the insights of the interaction between elderly and their environment and the acception of technology by these elderly, so the real needs of the elderly come first.

Smart Homes's researchers have evaluated the system with these end-users and their carers in realistic living environments. Both gathering the insights in the needs and wishes, as the evaluatoin of the final system are the core activities of Smart Homes within this project. 

Mobiserv consists of diverse interactive parts, such as an intelligent self-learning robot with differents senors, a touchscreen, speech recognition and speech synthesis, multiple optical recognition unities, a sweather, shirt and pajamas of intelligent texile with build-in sensors, to measure vital data, and an intelligent home automation infrastructure.
